ABOUT THE PROJECT

With the rapid evolution of generative AI, how can tech giants like Google evolve their packaging design process? Our team a flexible co-living workflow that bridges the gap between digital imagination and physical production.

Collaborated with an Industrial designer, I investigated how global brands (like Mattel, IBM, and Sony) utilize AI to streamline alignment between creative and marketing teams. Focusing on Google’s product line, we designed a structured transition from traditional design pipelines into a multi-layered AI-assisted ecosystem.

CHALLENGES

The problem with AI in current design is precision and fragmentation. Traditional packaging demands strict dielines, exact material textures (CMF), and manufacturing constraints that pure image generators completely fail to understand.

Our goal was to build a system that honors sustainability, elevates unboxing interactivity, and establishes an evolving database of workflows tailored for future Google hardware.

SUMMARY

The result was two-fold: a workspace plugin called "Workflow Wizard" to streamline AI tracking, an documentation. Secondly, a speculative "3.0 Glacier Slide" packaging concept and prototype that redefines Google’s design language for the next decade.

I was responsible for developing Workflow Wizard. It allows designers to easily drag, drop, and document AI prompts and outputs without disrupting their creative flow. It features an evaluation matrix that calculates weighted scores to recommend the best tool for specific priorities with crowd-sourced and live-updated by other Googlers.
