A self-initiated redesign project for NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA). I chose two event types—one centered on a single feature film, the other showcasing a full lineup of shorts—to explore how different layouts and messaging styles can better serve the content. This project was also part of a design challenge given during an internship application process.
Design Process
To start the design, first I had to understand the design style of NFMLA. I went on their website and use inspection to see what fonts they use. They use "GT America Expanded" for headlines and "GT America Standard" for body.
Other notes I made was that despite the general black and white clean use of website tone, they use quite some gradient colors from Black to White and Redish-Orange to Yellow.
